There's many reasons to run. Everybody has their why. Its fine if yours is different then everybody else you run with.
We all need something to keep us going. A lot of runners get started to lose weight and/or get fit. That's how I got started. I thought it was inexpensive and would help me loose some weight. Then I signed up for a race. Then another. I was never a fast runner in the front but I loved the race day feel and being surrounded by all the runners with a common goal.
Your why can change over time. I started with 5K's and worked my way up to the marathon. Some times I think I should of stopped at the half. But the challenge of the marathon keeps dragging me back.
Now, of course, you don't need to run a marathon to be a runner. Its finding your why. Why do you get out to run. One thing that keeps getting my out the door is the running community. I have so many great friends that I get to run with and spend time with around running events.
What keeps you going on the hard days? What keeps you motived and disciplined to keep getting out there?
Has a coach, my why is helping others reach their goals.
What's your why?
