
Consistency is king! When it comes to improving has a runner consistency is key. It takes discipline and motivation to get out there day after day and week after week. Follow your training plan. No that doesn't mean run 7 days a week. Does it mean you can not miss a run? No. Of course not. Missed runs are going to happen.
The goal is to be running consistent weekly mileage. Try to build up those miles. If you miss a day just go on to the next, dont worry or try to make up the miles. One day wont hurt, long has you remain consistent
Building those miles up, week after week. That is how to reach your goal. It wont happen in one day.
How many days or miles will vary depending on the person and goals. But the bigger the base the better your chances. Go get those miles in. Most should be easy miles. Conversational pace. Do not race your every day runs. 80% or more of your miles should be easy miles. It will build up your aerobic base and not over stress the body leading to injuries. Lots of consistent easy miles is key to endurance running.
